Sabine Rooftop Bar: The Guinea Pig Review

Sabine Cocktails

New rooftop alert! The weather is getting warmer, restrictions are lifting and there is a new rooftop on the block. It really doesn’t get much better.

Sabine rooftop opened to a much anticipated crowd earlier this month (May 20th), with bookings being snapped up almost immediately. Located on the seventh floor of the Leonardo Hotel, this glorious botanical bar is pretty stunning.

The Bar

The bar is split into three sections, the inside, the terrace and the green house. Whilst the horticultural theme is consistent throughout Sabine, there is a real garden-esque vibe in the main bar.

Staged as the centerpiece, with high stools circled around and a large well-manicured (although I’m sure it’s fake) hedge separating the venue from the lifts, this bar definitely has the wow factor as soon as you step inside. There is also a retractable glass roof which means you can enjoy this space come rain or shine.

The Views

Walk out onto the terrace and you will get your instagram moment. The view of St Pauls is incredible. Look the other way and you will see The Shard. The perfect amalgamation of new versus old. And we do love a variety of backgrounds for our photos.

The Menu

There is a small menu consisting of light bites and sharing boards, with items such as burrata’s flatbreads and salads. The drinks menu though, is large.

Expect an array of spirits, wines and beers if that’s what you want, however the cocktail list is where it’s really at. The list is full of Sabine’s take on the classics, along with some of their own creations. Don’t worry though, you can still ask for the regulars or irregulars if you prefer. I went on my birthday and they whipped me up a delicious “birthday cocktail”. I have no idea what it was, but I enjoyed the mystique of it all!

Overall

Remember, this is a Central London rooftop bar with brilliant views, so expect to pay for it. For a couple of cocktails and small bites, it’ll probably set you back around £50-£75 each.

Places like these, in the sun, really make me love London that little bit more. Book your rooftop garden drinks at Sabine here.

GP Score: 7/10
